Accessibility statement

Last updated 12 October 2026.

1.Our commitment

We want Remote Desk and this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, magnification or captions, and people with low vision, colour-vision differences, hearing loss, motor or cognitive disabilities.

Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That is a goal we are working toward. We have not had the product independently audited, and we do not claim that it conforms.

2.What we do

This website is built as plain, server-rendered pages that can be read with JavaScript turned off. Animation is added on top and is switched down for people who ask their device to reduce motion or transparency. You can choose a dark, light or system theme.

In the app we use standard page elements, labels and keyboard-reachable controls wherever we can, support light and dark themes, and keep working on contrast, focus visibility and screen-reader names as we add features.

3.Known limitations

The 2D and 3D office views draw the floor on a graphics canvas. A canvas cannot be read by a screen reader, and moving around it relies on pointer input, so these views are not accessible to everyone. The whiteboard is also drawn on a canvas, and drawing and moving shapes on it depends on a pointer.

Calls are carried as live audio and video. We do not provide live captions in calls. Recorded meetings can be turned into a transcript and minutes afterwards, but that is not a substitute for live captioning during the meeting.

Some parts of the app may not yet work well with every combination of assistive technology, browser and device. If something blocks you, we want to hear about it.

4.An alternative to the floor views

The Channels view, also called the Web view, shows the same rooms and who is in them as a wall of cards made of ordinary page elements rather than a canvas. If the 2D and 3D views do not work for you, it is the better place to start. The chat, tasks, docs, drive and meetings areas are standard pages and do not depend on the floor views.

5.Feedback and help

If you have trouble using any part of Remote Desk or this website, or need something in another format, email hello@thehivez.com. Tell us the page or feature, what you were trying to do, and the browser, device and assistive technology you use. We will do our best to help, and we use this feedback to decide what to fix.

You can also contact us through the website.

6.Keeping this up to date

We will update this statement as the product changes and as we learn more, including when we test with assistive technology or commission an audit.
