Deep research
A cited report, not a quick guess
Turn on research in the AI workspace composer and the answer becomes a report: it reads the web and your own projects, docs and files, shows you its progress, and cites what it used. Then you ask follow-ups in the same chat.
How are teams handling meeting notes without a note-taker? Use our docs too.
One question first
Do you want to focus on small teams, or on companies over 200 people?
- Searched the web, 6 sources read
- Read 2 pages in Docs: Team handbook
- Writing the report
Meeting notes for small teams
Most small teams keep one shared page per recurring meeting and write decisions at the top12. Your handbook already asks owners to record action items within a day3.

In the composer
Flip a switch, and the answer gets more thorough
Research is a toggle beside the text box. With it on, the AI may ask you a clarifying question or two before it starts, so it researches what you meant. You can watch its progress in the chat while it works, and the finished reply is a report with citation chips.
- A research toggle in the composer, off by default
- Clarifying questions first when the request is broad
- Progress shown inline while it works
- Follow-up questions in the same chat, with the report as context

Compare the contract against our launch brief and list anything that clashes.
Sources
The web, and the work you already have
A research report can draw on the web, your projects, your docs spaces and your files, so an answer about your own plans reads your own plans. Each claim carries a citation chip that points back to the source, so you can check it before you rely on it.
- The web, plus your projects, docs spaces and files
- Citation chips on the claims, with a source list
- Your own work is read with your own access, nothing wider
- The webPages read and cited
- Your projectsTracker items and comments

Take it with you
Keep the report, and the files that go with it
Export a report to PDF or Word, or save it to Docs as a page your team can find. Ask in the same message for the files you want alongside it, such as a PDF summary and a spreadsheet of the sources, and you get up to five files under the reply.
- Export to PDF or Word, or save to Docs
- Ask for up to five files in one request
- Files filed in Drive and revisable, like any AI-made file
Research this and give me a PDF summary and a spreadsheet of the sources.
